IMPORTANT: The free version of the plugin only checks the spelling of the texts in the pre 1990 Spelling Reform and doesn’t present any suggestions for the errors. This means that no grammar and style checking is done and only texts following the pre 1990 Spelling Reform can be used.
To unleash all the features of the plugin you should get a key to have access to Priberam’s proofing API.

Not compatible with Gutenberg.

Installation

  1. Install the plugin directly through the ‘Plugins’ page of WordPress.
  2. Activate the plugin in the ‘Plugins’ page of WordPress.
  3. Configure the plugin in the ‘Settings’ page. There you can select the language, if you want to use the 1990 Portuguese Spelling Reform, if you want the users to add words to the personal dictionary and the writing style. It is also in this page that you can fill in your access key to Priberam’s proofing API in order to use all the features.
  4. If you already had a previous version of the plugin installed, check that the API address, in the advanced options, points to version 1.5 and not a lower version..

FAQ

Can I use the plugin for free?

Yes, but with the following restrictions: only spelling errors are highlighted, that is, any grammar or style errors or warnings are not highlighted. Additionally, no suggestions are presented for the spelling errors. Only the pre 1990 Portuguese Spelling Reform spelling is checked.
To use all the features you must get an access key for Priberam’s proofing API.

What’s the price for the full proofing service?

It depends on the volume of texts proofed, that is, de size of the written texts and the publishing frequency. A set of plans cover the needs of different content publishers from the occasional blogger to the big media groups.

Is it compatible with Gutenberg?

No, it only works with the classic editor.
